Getting Started with Templater

Welcome to Templater Help. Browse or search through the sections in this help file to learn more about Templater. For the most up-to-date information, visit our online documentation.

Here is the basic workflow:

  1. Set up an AE Project for Use with Templater
Apply the Templater Settings Effect to make layers dynamic. Use Templater Settings parameters to scale, align, attach, and re-time layers to allow Templater's layout and Time Sculpting engines handle varying data.
  2. Set a Footage Folder and Output Destination folder
Specify where your footage sources are coming from and where your rendered jobs will go.
  3. Set up a Data Source
Use a spreadsheet or JSON-formatted text file to organize your data for video customization.
  4. Link the Data Source to Your AE Project
Ensure that your data source is linked to your AE project in the Templater panel.
  5. Save
Click Save to save the batch assets references to the project file. When you open it again, everything will be set up and waiting for you.
  6. Preview
Check out how your data is to be processed.
  7. Render or Replicate
Create replicates of compositions or render them as video files to your output location.
