Authorize Projector for JW Player
Projector can simplify and automate the process of uploading customized videos to your account on a streaming service of your choice. JW Player is one of the supported services.
Streaming services won't allow Projector to deploy video for you without authorization. If you have accounts with multiple streamers, you can authorize Projector to work with any service that's supported. However, you can only deploy missions to one streaming service per project. You will need separate payloads if you want to:
- Deploy some videos in a payload to one streaming service and others to a different service
- Deploy the same videos to more than one streaming service
NOTE If you have not already set up your JW Player account, you must do so before you can authorize Projector to deploy missions to it.
Authorize Projector
Projector must be signed in to your JW Player account, or authorized, in order to deploy missions.
- In the Streaming Services section of Projector, select JW Player from the drop-down.
- Click Setup.
- In the upper right corner of the JW Player Setup Screen, make sure the drop-down shows the correct profile and then click JW Dashboard Property ID.
- Log in to JW Player.
- Copy the PropertyID from the JW Player screen in the mini-browser and paste it into the Property ID field.

Click Show Secret for the API key you want to use with Projector.
What if I don't have an API key in JW Player?
You must have an API key to use JW Player with Projector. If you have Admin permissions for your JW Player account, you can create one yourself. If you don't manage your company's JW Player account, talk to your account administrator to obtain an API key and secret.
- In the JW Player Dashboard, go to Settings > API Credentials.
- In the v2 API Credentials section, click Add.
- For Name, enter a value. You should choose a name that makes it clear what API the key is for, such as Projector.
- Select a User Role from the drop-down.
- Click Add New API Key.
- Copy the API secret and paste it into the JW Player Secret (v2) field.
