Configure Storage Settings for Using Amazon S3

You can archive rendered videos to a location you provide on a supported storage serviceClosed Location where Projector stores saved videos, posters, and GIF clips.. You can also archive the associated poster images, GIF clips, or both, with the videos. If you create GIF clips, you should always archive them. Archiving settings are configured at the payload level, with each individual mission archived separately.

The credentials you enter in this task come from the account settings for your storage service. Projector currently supports S3 buckets from Amazon Web Services (AWS). This industry-leading storage solution is highly configurable, has built-in redundancy, and offers other benefits native to the AWS ecosystem. More options are planned for the future.

WARNING  You must enable and set up archiving if you configured this payload to archive posters, GIF clips, or both in the Transcode pillar. If you don't, Projector skips archiving completely and those settings are ignored.

  1. In the Storage section of the Projector UI, select the Enable archiving to storage? checkbox.
  2. For Provider, select Amazon S3.
  3. Click Setup.
  4. Enter your Access Key ID.
  5. Enter your Secret Key. This value is not stored by Amazon. You or your AWS administrator created it when you set up your AWS account. It's very important to keep a record of this key in a secure location.

  6. Select the S3 Region that matches the availability zone where your S3 bucket is located.
  7. For S3 Bucket, enter the name of the bucket you want to use for this payload. This value must be an exact match for the name displayed for the bucket in your AWS console.
  8. For S3 Folder, enter the name of the folder you want to use for this payload. If the folder already exists inside the S3 bucket, Projector will archive the files there. If it does not, Projector will first create a folder with this name and then archive files in it.
  9. Click Save/Authorize.
