Using the QUE API with Zapier
Dataclay has developed a first-party app integration for QUE on Zapier's platform. For now this is the only first-party QUE integration, but more may be coming in the future.
TIP There are many API connection and workflow automation tools on the market, and it should be possible to use any of them to connect via QUE's API. If you would prefer to use a different provider, or you are already integrated with another company's tools, then check out our API documentation to set up those integrations directly. Refer to your preferred provider's documentation on connecting to a custom API.
Introduction
What is Zapier?
Zapier is a no-/low-code service lets you connect QUE to 5,000+ other web services. Automated connections called Zaps, set up in minutes with no coding, can automate your day-to-day tasks and build workflows between apps that otherwise wouldn't be possible. It has a free tier for experimentation and paid tiers with various feature additions and improvements.
Each Zap has one app as the Trigger, where your information comes from and which causes one or more Actions in other apps, where your data gets sent automatically.
Who is Zapier for?
If you are a video post-production professional who isn't necessarily a developer with the skills or time to stand up a bespoke system, a no-code solution like Zapier can be a robust way to build a prototype or even a fully-functional app, quickly. With thousands of app integrations to choose from, including the professional tools you use every day, it makes it easy to get your data and media outputs into and out of QUE's database.
The Dataclay QUE integration for Zapier
QUE can integrate directly with your Zapier account. All you need to connect QUE to Zapier is your QUE API key, found in the Profile section of your QUE Dash. Get started connecting the app integration on the Dataclay QUE Zapier integration page. If you are using a dedicated deployment or other custom setup for QUE, your QUE API URL will be different.
Getting Started
Sign up for a free Zapier account, from there you can jump right in. To help you hit the ground running, here are some popular pre-made Zaps.
How do I connect QUE to Zapier?
You can connect to the Dataclay QUE Zapier integration either directly on Zapier's platform or from within your QUE Dash.
Finding your QUE API Key
-
Log into your QUE account.
-
Navigate to your Account page by clicking on the user avatar in the top right corner of the navigation bar and selecting Account from the menu or by going here.
-
Copy the API Key by clicking the copy icon (the key will be automatically saved to your clipboard) or by selecting the view icon and selecting the API Key manually to copy.
-
If you have any issues with the key being empty, you can use the re-generate button to get a new API Key.
WARNING Generating a new key will invalidate the previous key. If you have other integrations using the previous key, you will need to update with the newly-generated key in those locations.
-
Connecting to Zapier via the QUE Dash
The QUE Dash includes a full integration of Zapier's automation platform, including creating new Zaps and managing existing Zaps.

Once you are signed in, the first time you set up a Dataclay QUE Zap trigger or action, you will be prompted for:
-
Your API Key, which you previously copied to the clipboard.
-
A nickname for the connection. This can be anything, but we suggest using the Account Owner's email address or company name.
-
The API URL. The default value is https://que-api.datatclay.com/api/v1/ (note the trailing slash) and it is pre-filled in the auth setup field. If you aren't sure, please leave the default value. The only time you need to change this is if you have a custom or dedicated deployment, either within our cloud infrastructure or yours.
