Understanding Satellite Properties
Each Satellite is associated with the machine that added it to QUE. You can view a profile of that machine in the Satellites view in the QUE Dash by expanding the Satellite. Read below for detailed information about each property.
Authorization Information
When authorized, this area displays a graphic signifying that the Satellite has read and write access to QUE. The Satellite's ID, name, and the authorization's expiration date are displayed within the graphic.
Host Information
These properties describe the host machine that created the Satellite.
Table 1: Properties describing a Satellite's host
Name |
The name of the host |
If you want to change the name of your Satellite, first rename the host machine then sync the machine profile to the Satellite. |
User |
The name of the user logged into the host |
|
IP Address - External |
The host's external IP address |
|
IP Address - Internal |
The host's internal IP address |
|
Operating System |
The host's operating system |
|
Installed RAM |
The amount of RAM installed onto the host |
|

Authoring App |
The name and version of the authoring application running on the Satellite |
|
Data App |
The version of Templater running on the Satellite |
|
Data Feed |
The URL the Satellite retrieves Job data from |
|
Processing Scope |
Whether the Satellite will process Jobs from all Campaigns or only from the single Campaign linked to Templater. The value can be one of the following:
-
Single Campaign
-
All Campaigns
|
In Templater, this value corresponds to the checkbox named This Satellite processes Jobs from all Campaigns found in the QUE Satellite Information group within the QUE Configuration dialog.
|
Output Mode |
What type of assets the Satellite outputs.
This value can be one or more of the following output tasks that the Satellite can execute: Render - The Satellite outputs video files of target compositions in data-merged Autografs
Replicate - The Satellite outputs replicas of target compositions of data-merged Autografs
Spot Check - The Satellite outputs still images or short video clips of selected frames within target compositions of data-merged Autografs
|
In Templater, this value corresponds to the checkbox selections next to the Actions label under the Bot Settings group found in the Templater Preferences dialog. |
Output Naming |
The naming scheme the Satellite uses when saving output assets.
This value can be one of the following options:
Unique - The Satellite uses a Job's inherent _id as the name for output
Prepend - The Satellite uses a Job's inherent _id as the output name and uses the Job's output value as the path to a directory for saving the output
Override - The Satellite uses a Job's output value as the name and path to a directory for saving the output
|
In Templater, this value corresponds to the selection under the Output Naming group in the QUE Configuration dialog. |
Output Root |
The directory root for where the Satellite saves output |
In Templater, this value corresponds to the path found in the Destination field under the Output Options group in the main panel. |
Footage Root |
The directory root for where the Satellite retrieves footage assets from |
In Templater, this value corresponds to the path found in the Footage field found under the Batch Assets group in the main panel. |
