Linking a Google Sheets Document to Your AE Project

Before you begin, ensure that Templater is authorized to access Google Sheets documents in your Google Drive account. See Authorizing Access to Your Google Sheets Documents to learn how.

WARNING  As of October 3, 2022, versions of Templater prior to 3.1.0 will no longer function with Google Sheets due to Google deprecating an older user authorization flow. You will need to reauthorize Templater to access your Google data after updating to the latest version.

Follow these steps to link your After Effects project to a specific tab within a Google Sheet:

1. In the Templater panel, under Batch Assets, click the Google Drive icon.
2. In the list box displaying the Sheets documents associated with your Google Drive account, click a worksheet tab name. You can find your Sheet by entering a query term in the field above the list box and clicking Search.
3. Wait for Templater to retrieve the tab names from the selected Sheet document. Underneath the Sheet document name, select the specific worksheet tab you wish to link to your project. Click OK.
4. In the Templater panel, click Save to save your selected data source as a project file preset.
