Deactivating Templater Via The Web
Templater license activations are tied to the specific machine where they are activated. If you need to move Templater to a different machine, or if you need to manage multiple activations across all of your license keys at once, you can manage license deactivation via your account on Dataclay's website. This convenient option works whether you have a standard (node-locked) or floating license. Once you've cleared a current activation, see Registering and Activating
Templater to activate on the new machine.
This method is especially useful if you need to move a node-locked license to a new machine when you don't have access to the currently-activated machine, when reinstalling the operating system without deactivating, moving from a broken machine to a new one, or for clearing a currently activated virtual machine after a reboot.
WARNING
Deactivating Templater does not cancel any recurring subscription payments to Dataclay, LLC, its partners, or resellers. You must work directly with your vendor to cancel any recurring charges to your account. For example, to fully cancel a subscription purchased from Dataclay, you must login to your account, navigate to the Licenses & Billing page, then go to the Billing tab to find the Manage Orders and Account link. From here you can cancel any recurring subscriptions and optionally remove your payment method under the "Payment Method" tab. If you purchased from aescripts + aeplugins you must login to your aescripts account.
Dataclay accounts are not automatically created at the time of purchase. Creating a Dataclay account will link any licenses and the billing account associated with the registered email address. If you already have an account at the time of purchase, even if you are not logged in, your license will automatically be linked to your account if the email address matches the billing email address.
NOTE If you purchased through a reseller such as aescripts, you can create a Dataclay account with the same email address, and your license keys will be automatically linked. The billing details will still be managed on the reseller's platform.
You can deactivate any Templater license from within your account via the Dataclay website.
-
On Dataclay website, click on the (Account icon) to open the Account menu, and choose Login or Sign up.
-
On the auth page:
-
If no Dataclay account has previously been created, click the Register tab and create a new account using the same email address as the one used for billing when you purchased Templater. You can register with a single-sign-on provider, or with a username and password. If you register with a password, you will receive an email with a link to verify your address. After verifying (if necessary), return to the Account menu to log in.
-
If you have an existing Dataclay account, sign in on the Log In tab.
- Once you are logged in, click (Account) to open the Account menu and then click Licenses & Billing.
-
License Keys is first tab on the Licenses & Billing page. Any purchased license keys will appear in a list here.
WARNING If you log into your Dataclay account and you don't see your licenses listed, please check that the email matches your billing email address. If you purchase with a different billing email address from the one registered as your Dataclay account, the licenses will not be linked.
-
Any currently activated license keys will have a (twirl-down arrow) button to the left of the key's details. Click the (twirl-down) to see currently activated machines. Keys may be marked with extra informational status tags such as floating, expired, and revoked.
NOTE A key marked expired can still be activated, but it will not unlock the associated Templater features, since the subscription for that key has ended.
- Review the activation details for each activated machine under your selected license key. Click on the (trash/x icon) to deactivate Templater on the currently activated machine that you wish to remove.
- A dialog will appear with the selected machine's details. Confirm the deactivation by clicking YES.
- After a moment, you should see another dialog box confirming that the license was successfully deactivated. Close the dialog. You are now free to re-activate the key on another machine.
If you encounter any issues, feel free to contact Dataclay support.
