Installing Templater

NOTE  Templater initially installs in trial mode. When in trial mode, the Templater Settings effect superimposes a graphical watermark on all rendered layers. Also, you can only replicate master compositions when the "Send Replicates to the Adobe Media Encoder" preference is enabled.

1. Ensure that your user account for your operating system has administrator privileges.
2. Quit After Effects.
3. Unzip the Templater download archive (.zip) to a temporary directory.
4. Navigate to the installer file for your license type and operating system.

   WARNING  Use the Standard installer if you plan to evaluate Templater in trial mode. Templater does not support trial mode for floating licenses and will display an invalid filter ( 25 :: 3 ) error message when you try to add the plugin to a layer.

5. Double click the installer file to begin installation.
6. Follow the installation wizard prompts.
7. To verify the installation is complete:
   1. Launch an Adobe After Effects version that received the Templater installation.
   2. In After Effects Creative Cloud (CC) 2018 or earlier, open the After Effects Preferences > General page. For CC 2019 and newer, open Preferences > Scripting & Expressions. Ensure that "Allow Scripts to Write Files and Access Network" is enabled.
   3. From the main menu, select Effect > Dataclay. If you find the Templater Settings effect, the native After Effects plugin is installed correctly.
   4. From the main menu, select Window. If you see a Templater #.jsxbin menu item, the file is installed correctly.
8. Begin your trial mode evaluation or register and activate your Templater license.
